Orange is one of the most consumed fruits in Latin America. It is very important as food because of its medicinal value. After the banana, the most desired and appreciated fruit is the orange.

Medicinal uses of oranges

Orange is made up of water, glucose, vitamins A, B, C, citric acids, mineral salts, proteins and fibers that nourish and regenerate the organic defenses.
It harmonizes the transit of the digestive system, increases digestion and helps to combat gastric obstructions, due to the high concentration of water and mineral salts. It is quite diuretic and promotes blood cleansing.

Advice for use

Uric acid – It is recommended to substitute foods with the consumption of orange only. Breakfast or dinner can be substituted for several days.

Appetite – About 2 hours before each meal it is recommended to suck an orange or pear.

Asthma – Proceed as indicated in the uric acid. In the acute phase, it is recommended to sip warm juice.

Bowel congestion – It is recommended to suck some oranges a day, and eat the well-chewed bagasse. You can only swallow oranges including bagasse.

Digestion – It is recommended to substitute, sporadically, a meal with orange.

Diuresis – Ingestion of only orange or its juice, performs a highly diuretic effect.

A headache – Headaches caused by hypoglycemia and exhaustion can be relieved by sucking on one or two oranges. Diabetics should do so on prescription.

Flu – It is recommended to drink orange juice between meals, or suck on them. You can only eat an orange. When you wake up, take 2 to 4 tablespoons of juice, well concentrated, mixed with propolis. For each spoonful, 10 drops of propolis (30 % solution) may be used.
